Elizabeth Handsley is Professor of Law at Flinders University in Adelaide. Originally a Sydneysider, she has taught also at the University of New South Wales and Murdoch University in Perth. She teaches constitutional law and media law, and has in the past taught feminist legal theory.

Elizabeth became involved in the Australian Council on Children and Media in 1999, and was elected President in 2010. Through the Council, and through her academic work, she has been involved in debates on food advertising, sexualisation of children in the media, media self-regulation and classification of video games, among other things.
