Babysitter and Nanny Directory Built by a Nanny

By - 19th November 2012

This is a sponsored blog post.

After over ten years working as a nanny, Rebecca DeLuca founded her own nanny and babysitter directory, recognising the need for a new model for Australian parents and nannies. Rebecca saw the opportunity to create a unique service that allows both parents and nanny agencies to list jobs alongside each other and the result is babysittersearch.com.au.

Rebecca answered some quick questions about her new business:

Q. What’s your background?

A. I’ve been a nanny for over ten years and I love helping children and families. On many occasions, and for many reasons, child care doesn’t work for families, so there’s an enormous need for caring, loving babysitters and nannies for Australian families. I know the industry intimately and know what families want and need for their children.

Q. Why did you create Babysittersearch.com.au?

A. Although I’ve been a nanny for many years, I never found a site that collectively listed

303
jobs by parents and agencies. I knew a web directory like that would be a great resource for babysitters and nannies alike. I wanted to create the website to build a community for babysitters, nannies, parents and agencies.

Q. How does the website work?

A. The website works simply by connecting parents and agencies with their perfect babysitter or nanny, based on location and job requirements. Babysitters and nannies register their details for free.

Q. Is there any other information that might help parents searching for babysitters?

A. There’s an extensive database of babysitters and nannies to research and meet, and a blog with tips and articles to help you travel through the journey of parenthood and hired help. Another new, exciting addition is an Australia-wide Nanny Agency Directory. Ultimately, my aim is for the directory to be a one-stop-shop for parents and babysitters - and the most prominent in Australia. Starting my own business has been an exciting and very time-consuming process but I love what I do, and love that it has transferred across to my business.  I hope that people will love the site and help to spread the word.
